How Does Lot 20 Affect You?
On 1st January 2018, there was one of the most significant shakeups in EU legislation. Particularly to do with electric space heaters.
Electric space heaters must now be controlled by an internal or external controller to allow for more efficiency. Also known as Lot 20.
The EU commission noticed that over the past few years, the electrical space heater market has made up a high proportion of energy usage by households and businesses.
The goal is to help further improve financial savings, reduce energy usage and to better product quality.
To optimise performance, all heaters need to be controlled by a thermostat timer.
With Lot 20 being published, for Warm4less nothing much has changed. We have and always will advise clients to choose the appropriate controller from our accessory range. This ensures the heater is being used at the right times and temperatures.
By controlling rooms individually throughout the property, the user can improve the thermal comfort for it’s occupants. It will also further maximise savings on a day to day basis.
To help further, we’ve published a new help guide for choosing the right controller for you, which you can read here
If you’re still unsure on the type of controller which may be appropriate, then please don’t hesitate to contact us to get friendly, helpful advice.
